PROVIDE AN ADDI~IOMAL APPROPRIATION TO THE FINANCE

WHEREAS, pursuant to the pfovisions of Section 12 of Article ,lli ·
of the Charte~ of the City of Palo Alto, the council on June 2 5, 1984 ". · ,
did adopt a budget for fiscal year 1984-85; and
WHEREAS, on October 22, 1984, the City Council approved a settle
ment in the case of Mitchell v. City of Palo Alto; and
WHEREAS, the City has agreed to pay Mitchell the sum of Ninety
Thousand Dollars ($90,000} in said settlement.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN
as follO'-"S:
SBCTICN 1. Th~ su. of Ninety Thousand Dollars ( $90,000) is appro
priated to the l-"'iraance Department for General Se;cvices and the Reserve
for Sel £-Insurance is correspondingly decreas::d.
SECTION 2* The Council fin(~ that .this is not a project for pur
posesof. the Cali.fornia Envi!'on•ental Quality Act and, therefore, no
environmental assessaent is required.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall becume effective i .. ediately as
provided in Section 12 of Article Ill of the Charter and Section
2.04.375 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code.
