Chapter 18.57 (General Manufacturinq Combining Dis- trict (B}) is hereby added to the Palo Alto ~·'micipal Code to read as follows; Chapter 18.57 GENERAL MANUFACTURING COMBINING DISTRJ:CT (B) REGULATIONS Sections: 18.57.010 18,57.020 18.57.030 18.57.040 13.57.050 18.57.060 18.57.070 Specific purposes. Applicability of regulations. Zoning map designation. Permitted uses. Conditional uses Site development regulations Special requirements. 18.57g010 Specific purpose. The general rnanuf acturing combining district is intended to modify the regulations of the gen~1ra 1 manuf actur.i ng district in areas which have high employment poten­ tial but are already suffering from traffic conges­ tion. The combining disti:-ict is intended to prohi­ bit uses, normally allowed in the general manu­ fa.cturing district, which are considered high in employment and tra~f ic generation potential so that those uses do not occur. 18.57.020 Applicability of regulations. The general manufacturing combining district may be combined with a. veneral manufacturing district, in accord with Chapter 18.08 and 18.98. Where so com­ bined, the regulations established by this chapter: shall apf1ly in lj.eu of the comparable provisions established by the \jeneral manufacturing district revulations. 18.57*030 Zoning map designation. (c) Decision. Whian th0 buildi.nJ official has made a determination to yrant an exception, he shall mail notice of that dete~mina­ tion to the n~cor:d owners and occupt'rnts of the abutting properties and properties lying within 300 feet of the location of the proposed chemical con­ tainment facility. The notice shall state the nature of the application and the intention of the building official to grant the f:xception U no ob .i ec t ion is made, and sha 11 prov Lele twenty days to object in writing. ( e) Referral to pl-:rnning commission and city council. (1) If a written objection is filed with the building official by any interested party, within twenty days of the mailing of the notice of the intended dec.lsion, the bl1ilding official sh.::lll set the exc-ep1':.ion application for a me•ating of the planning conunission.. At least tw<::lve days prior to the date of ~-;:.!ch meetirig~ the building official shall send notice of the meeting in accordance with Section 18.63.050(d). (2) Action by the commission. Upon the date set for the meeting, the planning commission shall conduct a hearing on th• application. At the conclus .ion of the hearing 7 the comrniss ion shall make findings and recommend to the city council that the decision of the building official be affirmedr changed, or modif.ic~d. ( 3) Action by the city counc i 1.
