AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12.16.020 Of
CHAPTER 12.16 OF TITLE 12 OF THE PALO ALTO
MUNICIPAL CODE BY ESTABLISHING UNDERGROUND
UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 25
The Councll of the City of Palo Alto, California, does ORDAIN as follows:
1-lHEREAS, tr1ls Counc11 did, on May 16. 1983, adopt its Reso1ut1on No.
6119 cf Intention to Amend Section 12.16,020 of Chapter 12.16 of Ti tie 12 of
the Palo Alto Municipal Code by Establishing Underground Ut11tty D1strict No.
2S in sald City and by s.~id Resolution appointed t·ionday, the 15th day of
August, 1983, at the hour of 7:30 o'c.lock p.m. in the Counc:il Chambers, CHy
Han, 250 Ham11ton .Avenue, Palo Alto, California, as the time and place of
hearing protests and recelv\ng ev\dence for and agalnst sa·ld proposed action
and dlrecttng notice;

manner prov1 dad by 1 a'W, as appe3.rs from the aff1 davits on f11 e in the office
of the C\ty Clerk;
WHEREAS, said matter came on regularly for hear1nq at the time therein
fixed; and
HHEREAS, a.l i written protests and other wr ftten communi cat 1 ons were
publ\cly read at ~aid meet1nq and ev1dence duly taken and all persons des1r1ng
to be heard were fully heard;
NOH. THEREFORE~ IT IS FOUND, OET~RiiHIEO and ORDERED, as follows:
S£CTIOH 1_. The publ1c necessity, health and safety requ1re the r~moval
of poles and overhead 1\nes and assoc1ated overhead structures from that
certa1n area described 1n said Resolut1on No. 6077.
SECHON_.f.. Sectlon 12. 16.020 of Chapter 12. 16 of n tl e 12 of the Palo
Alto Muntcipal Code 1s amended by add1ng Subsectfon <24) thereto, said
Subsection (25) to read as follows:
11 (25) 01strlct No. 25. All lands w1thln the City of Palo Alto on
Orm-a Street between Los Robles Avenue and Juana Br1vnes School;
removal ninety <90/ days after comp1et1on and acceptance of the
work.''
SECTION 3. The "Underground Ut111ty D1 s td ct Map11 referred to l n sa 1 d
Sectlon 12.16.020 shall be o:mended to add the areas sho~n on the map referred
to 1n sa1d Resolution No. 6119.
SECTION 4. Thts Ord~nance shall become effective upon the expiration of
thirty OO> dajs fr~-n its passage.

WHEREAS, said Resolution d1rected the undersigned to miike and file a
r~p::rrt preserting a general description of any works and appliances already
'nsta11ed and any othf?r pr(Jperty neress:;ar~; or convenient for the operation of
the imp:ovem£>1ts. plitr.S ar1d ~pec\ftcations for the proposed cnnstruction,
estimate of costs, maps and descriptions of lands and easement~ to be
acquired, and dlag,·~m and assessment of and upon the subdivi5ions of !and
