The RMD two unit multiple-family residence district is intended to allow a second dwelling unit under the same ownership as the initial dwelling unit on appro­ priate sites in areas designated for multiple­ family U$e by th·2' Pcilo Alto Cornprehensi~;e Plan­ The RMD district is intended to minimize incentives to replace existing single-family .dwellings, main­ tain existing neighborhood character .and increase the "Variety of housing opportunities available within the community. Maximum density would be 43 dwellings units pet' hectare ( 17 dwelling units per­ acre). 18.19.020 Applicability of regulations .. The sper.ific r:egulations of this chapter and the add it, ion al regulations and procedures established by Chapters 18. 83 to 18 ~ 99, inclusive, sh al 1 apply to all RMD two unit multiple-fam~ly res~dence districts. 18.19.030 Pe.raitted uses. The follc,wing uses shall be permitted in the RMD two unit multi­ ple-family residence district: (a) Accessory facilities and uses customarily incidential to pet·mitted uses,; ( b) Home occupations, when accessory to per­ mitted residential use~ ( c} Hort icul tuu:, gardening, and growing of food products f:or consumption by occupants of the s i t.e; (d) Lodging; {e) Si.ngle-fardly uses; (h) Mobile homes r.:H..~r 1H,::>nent founda.t ions< (manufactured ho~sing) See Section 18.88.140. on 18.19 .. 040 Conditional uses.. The follow~ in9 us~s may be conditionally allowed in the RMD two unit multiple-family resid(~nce district, sub­ ject to issuance of a condition al use permit in accord with Chapter 18.90: (a) Chucches and religious institutions~ (b) Community centers; (c) nay care centers, day care homes, and family day care homes; {d} Neighborhood recreational centers1 (e) Private educational facilities; (f) Temporary uses, subject to regulations established by Chapter 18.90; (g) Utility facilities essential to provision of. utility servic0s to the neighborhood, but ex­ clu<ling business offices, construction 01· storage yards~ maintenance facilities, or cox."poration yards. 18.19.050 Site development ~egulations. The fol lowing site development regulat .tons sh al 1 apply in the RMP two unit multiple-family residence district: (a) Site An~a. ·rhe minimum site area shall be 464.5 square meters (5,000 square feet). 2. -' ~ . . . (c) Location of Parking Spaces. No requ.ired parking space shall be located in a required front yard or in the first 3.0 meters (10 feet) adjoining the .street property line of a required street side yard. 18.19~070 Special RequireMents.
