ORDINANCE: OF ·THE COUNCIL OFTHE-Cffi OF PALO AL'J'O
APP.ROVING AI'W ADOPTING A PLl\N FOR ·rHE CONSTRUCTION
OF AN EROS ION CONTROL PROJ 8CT IN F!J'OTH l LLS PAR.K
WHEREAS, Article VIII of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto and
Sect ion 22. 08. 00 5 of t.he Palo A 1 to Mun.i c i pa 1 Code r.equ ire that be fore
any substantial building, construction, t:eccm.struction. or development
is commenced upon any 1and held by lhe City for-park pLlrposes, the
Council shall approve and adopt a plan by ordinance; and
WHEREA::, the City Council did by Ordinance 2252, adopted in 1965r
plac.:-> Foc:'.:hills Park, and additions to Foothills Pat·k ("Foothills
Park 11 1 on a list of lar:ds used .:;r intended ru hP ui;cd C.n· park pur
pose~ s.: and
WHEREAS F t.he Council wisheE to allow construct ion ot repairs due
to erosion and erosion control measures to prevent future erosh1r. of
natural park lands in Foothills Park pursuant to plans prepared there
fore; and
WHEREAS; the project was r-ecommended for approval by the Architec;
t.ural Review Board and the Planning Commission, and approved by the
City Council, pursuant to Chapter 18.82 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code
(Site and Design Review).
NOW, ~rHEREf'ORE, the Counc:.i.l of the City of. Palo Alto does ORDAIN
as follows:
SECTION 1. The plan to allow construction of an erosion control
project to prevent. future erosion of the natural park lands in Foot
hills Park, as shown in detail in Exhibit "A", and shown in surmnary in
Exhibi-t "B" attached hereto and incorporated by this rcf·:.:;?rence, is
hereby appr·oved and adopted pursuant to Section 22.08 ~ 005 of the Palo
Alto Municipal Code.
SECTION 2. The Council finds that this project will have no
significant aaverse environmental impact.
SEC'I'ION 3. This ordinance shall become effective upon the com
mence;nt ofthe thirty-first da_y after the day of it.s passage.
