ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF 'l'HR CIT'X' OF PALO AL'l'O
AMENDING SECTION 12.16.020 OF CHAPTER 12.16 OF
TI'rLE 12 OF 'J.'HE PALO ALTO M.UNICIPAL CODP. BY
ESTABLISHING UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 24
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows:

of Title 12 of the Palo Al.to Municipal Code by Establishing Und~rground
Utility District. No~ 24 in said City and b? said Resolution appo.inted
Monday, the 10th day 0f January, 1983, at l~e hcur of 7:30 o'clock p.m.
in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 250 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto,
California, as the time and place of hearing protests and receving evi
dence for and aqainst said proposed action and directing notice~
WHEREAS, notice was given of the time and place therein stated in
the manner provided by law, as appears from the affidavits on file in
the office of the City Clerk;
WHEREAS, said matter-came on reqularly for hearing at the time
therein fixed1 and
WHEREAS, all written protests and other written communications
were publicly read at said meeting and evidence duly taken and all
persons desirinq to be heard were fully heard:
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS FOUND, DETERMINED and ORDERF:D, as follow~~:
SECTION 1 • The public neceso i ty, beal th and safety require the
removal of pOles and overhead lines and associated overhead structures
from that certain area described in said Resolution No. 6077o
Section 2. Section 12.16.020 of Chapter 12.16 of Title 12 of the
Palo Alto Municipal Code is admended by adding Subsection (24) there
to, said Subsection (24) to read as follows:
"(24) District No. 24. All lands within the
City of Palo Alto bounded by Alma Street, Lytton
Avenue, Ramona St:r.eet and Forest Avenue plus the
area t>ounded by University Aven qp 1 Bryant. St t:eet,
Hamilton Avenue and Ramona Street, plus the area
bounded by Cowpe'L· Street, University Avenue,
Webster Str:eet and alleyway between Cowper Street
and Web$ter St~reet. plus Assessor's Parcel Numbet·
120-3-6B located on Cowper Str~et, Assessment
Parcel Number 120-27-045 located on Alma Street and
Assessment Parcel Number 120-27-047 located on Hiqh

Street; removal ninety ( 90) days after completion
and acceptance of the work..;t
SECTION 3. The "Underground Utility District Map" referred to in
Sr.1.irl Se,~tiO"n'-12.16.020 shall be amended to add the areas shown on the
map referred to in sai~ Resolution No. 6077.
SECT ION 4. This Ordinance shall become ef feet i ve upon the expj_ r. a--
