The Council cf the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows: SECTION L section 18.04.030(65) [Gross Floor Area Definition] of the Palo Alto Municipal Code is hereby amended to read: 11 \ 65) .. Gross Floor Area" means the total area of all floors of a builning, measured to the outside surfaces of exterior walls, and including halls, stairways, elevator shafts, service and il'iachanical equipment rooms, and basement, cellar or attic areas deemed usable by the building official. The table entitled "Design Guideline For Underground Parking Facility R~mps" in Section lB.83.080 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code is hereby amended to read: OFF-STREET PARKING REGULATIONS 18. 83 .080 DESIGN STANDARD FOR l!NDERGROU~Ll PARK l NG FAC l LITY RAMP 1. A distance of l.5 m~ters (five feet) r.hall be maintained at the same slope as the sidewalk fr,,m the back edge of the sidewalk to the ~tarting point of the ramp. 2. The first and last 3.1 meters (ten feet) of th~ slope grade (transition length) shall not exceed 8.8 percent. 3. Th~ rel!lai.ning portion of the ramp shsll not have a slope greater than 17.6 percent an<l the breakover angle (see diagram) ~hall noi: exceed ten degrees. 4.
