ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING PC ORDINANCE NO. 2006 TO INCLUDE A SYSTEM
OF ILLUMINATED PARKING DIRECTIONAL SIGNS F.'OR THE
ECCO RISTORANTE AT THE HYATT PALO ALTO, 4290 EL
CAMINO REAL
WHEREAS, on March 13, 1961, by Ordinance No. 2006, the City of Palo
A~LO approve~ a Planned Community (PC) zone for certain property known as
4290 El Camino Real to allow a motel complex; and
WHER-EAS, the ECCO Ristorante and Bar is a portion of the approved
motel complex and is locatedr along with its parking lot, near the rear of
thP. complex; and
WHEREAS, the property owner has applied fo~ a system of illuminated
direct.~onal signs to assist customers of the ECCO Ristorante and Bar in
finding the rear entry of the motel complex intended for use by patrons of
the rcstaunmt t.1nd that porticm of the motc:l complex reserved for restau
t·ant park iflq; and
WHEREAS, the design for the system of signs has oeen reviewed and ap
proved by the Ar~hitectural Review Goard and has been found to be compat
ible with the appearance and fun.cti.on of the complex;
NOW, THEREfORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as
fallows:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 2006 is hereby amGnded to include a system
of eight freestandiilg illuminated signs and one wall mounted i.llumin~t..;.d
sign to direct patrons to the rear restaurant entrance and to the parking
provi~ed for restaurant patrons, as shown on :::~hibit 11 A 11 ottached hereto.
SECTION 2. ~velopment Schedule. Construction of the signs shall be
completed by June 1, 1982.
SECTION 3. The Council finds that t~iR project will have no sjgnifi
cant adverse· environmental impact.
SECTION 4. This o~dinance shall become effective upon the c~mmence
ment of the thirty-first day after the day of its adoption.
