HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 3311" • • r • • ·oRIGINAL ORDINANCE NO • ....l.J.l.L ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE ~ITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING PC ORDINANCE NO. 2224 TO INCLUDE A PARK­ ING STRUCTURE AT THE CORNER OF BIRCH STREET AND SHERIDAN AVENUE WHEREASf on December 28, 1964, by Ordinance No. 2224, the City of Palo Alto approved a Planned Community (PC) zone for certain property known as 2655, 2705, and 2723 Birch Street and 251, 271, 276, 278, 280, and 296 Sheridan Avenue to allow professional and commercial offices, agencies, and uses; and WHEREAS, the approved parking garage on "Lot fi1.·.:>a C" was never constructed: and WH~REAS, the property owner has applied for an amendment to the PC ordinance to construct a parking structure at the cvrner of Birch Street and Sheridan Avenue; NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of ~aJo Alto does ORDAIN as follows: SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 2224 is hereby amended to j ncluae a parki~g structure on the corn~~ of Birch Street and Sheridan Avenue, as shown or, Exhibit "A'1 • S EC'1'ION 2. conditlons: The amendment is appr:oved subject to the following ( 1 ) That the en t ranee ramp have a height 1 imitation control including both the physical structure and sign program that accomplishes the goal of limiting high rooflinP vehicle access to the lower level so that free line of sight vision is protect€:d ,7or cars on the off-ramp to Birch Street. That no street. tree be removed or relocated W·ithout a prior pe~mit from the City's Parks Department. That all landscaping in street right-of-way be sub­ ject to approval b~ the Parks Department. That a handicapped ramp be const~ucted on both corners of the Sheridan Avenue and Park Boulevard intersections. That all lights be on time~s or photocells. .. ,. . . • • SECTION 3. Develoement Schedule. Construction of the parking structure and all condit1ons set forth in Section 2 shall be completed by December 1, 1982. SECTION 4. The Council finds that this project will have no sig­ nificant adverse environmental impact. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall become effective upon the com­ mencement of the thirty-first day after the day of its passage.
