ORDINANCE OF 'rHE COUNCIL OF ·r·r.~£ ci·ry OF PALO ALTO
Ar-\ENDI NG THE CHJDGF;T FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1 98 1-8 2 TO
PROVIDE FUNDH;G !N THE FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR FIRE
CAUSE INVESTIGATION AND TRAINING
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section~;~ of Article :nr
of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Counci 1 01. June 22, 1981,
did adopt a budget for fiscal year 1981-82; and
WHERBAS, the County of Santa Clat"a will no longer pt"ovide fire
investigation services to the City of Palo Alto as has been donR in the
past~ and
WHEREAS, staff has negotiated a pro-rata agreement between the
cities of Palo P.lto, Mountain View, and Los Altos (including the Los
Altos Fire Protection District and Stanforct Linear Acc2lerator Center),
and the County of San~a Clara to p~ovide Fire Cause Investigation and
Training as specified in the terms of the aqre~ment; and
WHEREAS, 3ai.d agreement will commcnc(3 upon c:,H:c·ut.ion oy all
parties and terminate on October 30, 1982;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does O~DAIN

SECTION 1. The sum of T-.·;enty-six Thonsand Seven Hundr·ed Seventy-
one DollC\rs($26,771) is appropriate~.i fo1: tech;1ical send.cr;;s in the
Fire Department, Fire Prev8ntio~ Subprogram, and the Reserve for
Ca~ital Projects is correspo~dinqly decreased.
