ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF •ffiE CITY OF' PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 193 1-82 'ro PROVIDE
ADDITION~L FUNDING FOR PALO ALT0 1 S PARTICIPATIO~ IN THE CALAVERAS
HYDROELEC'rRIC PROJECT THROUGH THE NORTHERN CALI FORNI A POWER AGENCY
WH8REASr pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article
III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on June 22,
1981, did adopt a budget for fiscal year 1981-82; and
WHRREAS, th~ City of Palo Alto is a m2mber 0f the Northern
California Power Agency, which agency is pursuirq development of the
Calaveras Hydro~lectric project: and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto ~urrently participates in this
project through the Northern Cali fonda Power !\qencv and has a
guaranteed right to a portion of the power produced by this project:
and
WHEREAS, c?.dditional costs are necessar·y for pre-Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission licensing activities on this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The sum of Two Hundred Twenty Six Thousand Fou~
Hundred F1fty Dollars ($226,450} is appropri.aled t.o the Electric
Uti 1 it y Fund as folJov1s:
Acquisition ~nd Construction Subprogram
-Bydroelectric/NCPA $226,450
and the Reserve for Systems Improvement of the Electric Utility Fund
is correspondingly decreased.
SECTION 2. The Anv ironmental impact assessment which was
previously performed will no\.. be affected by this change.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective immediately
as provided in Section 12 of the Charter and Section 2.04.375 of the
Palo Alto Municipal Code.
