·rhe Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows:
SECrION 1. Section 18.04.030{96) of the P,'l.lo r.lto Municipal
Code ("Definitions) is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(96) 'Mobile home (manufactured hoL1sing)'
means a structure, tx an spor table in one or mot-e
sections, which is built on a permanent chassis
and designed to be used as a dwell inq with or
without a permanent foundation when connected to
t.he required utilities, and including the plumb
ing, heating, air-conditioning, and electrical
syr~tems contained tht'rein. n

SECTION 9. Section 18.29.030(1) of the Palo Alto Municipal Code
(RM-5 District) is hereby added to read as follows:

SECTION 10. Section 18.71.0SO(g) of the Palo ~lto Municipal
Code (OS Distr1 ct) is hereby added to read as fol lows;

SECTION 11. Section 18~72.030(d) of the Palo Alto Municipal
Code (AC D1str1ct) is hereby added to read as foll0ws:

SECTION 12. Section 18.88.140 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code
is hereby amende~ to r.ead as follows:

the National Mobile Home Construction and Safety
Standards Act of 1974 (42 U.S.C. Section 5401 1 r?t
seq.) or any successor legislatio~.

system approved by the Building Officic-,.l p;_1rsuant
to all applicable laws, including, but not limit
ed to1 California Health and Safety Code Section
18551 or successor legislation.

regulations of the district in which it is locat
ed.
"(d) Notwithstanding any other prov1si.ons
of this Title, mobile homes (manufactui::ed hous
ing) on permanent foundations shall not be al low
ed in any historic district of the city as desig
nated in Chapter 16.49."
SECTION 13. Section 18. 88. 160 ( g) of the Palo Al to Municipal
Code (Vehicle and Equipm~nt Repair and Storage) is hereby added to
read as fol lows:
"'(g) Subject to :securing a permit tlrnrefor
from the Building Official and otherwise oomply
i ng with applicable law, the use of a recrea~·
tional vebicle, as defined in this Title, may oo
permitted for sleeping purposes only for a period
not to exceed thirty consecutive days in any ca 1-
endar year for not more than two non-payinq
guests of the occupant of a single-family dwell
ing in accord with all applicable regulations
governing parking and storage of vehicles."
SECTION 14. The Council .:inds that none of the prov is ions of
this ord1nancewill have a sis·nific.ant adverse environmental impact.
