ORDINANCE NO. :3282 ----ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
APPROVING AND ADOP'riNG A PLAN FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
OF A HICYCLE:/PEOE:S'rRIAN PATH IN BYXBEB PARK
WHEREAS, Article VIII of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto
and Section 22.08.005 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code require that
before any substantial building, construction, reconstruction or de
velopment is commenced or approved upon or with respect to any land
held by the City for park purposes, the Council shall first cause to
be prepared and by ordinance approve and adopt a plan therefor; and
WHEREASr the City Council did by Ordinance No. 2252, adopted in
1965, place Byxbee Park on the list of lands used or intended to be
used for park purposes; and
WHEREASt the Council desires to allow construction and placement
of a bicycle/pedestrian path, located in Byxbee Park, pursuant to
~l~ns prepared therefor; and
WHEREAS, the project was unanimously approved under Section
18.82 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code (Site and Design Review) by th~
Planning Commission and the Ar.chitect.llral Review Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the tity of Palo Alto doos CRDAIN
as follows:
SECTION 1. The document attached hereto, marked Exhibit nA~
hereby-1sapproved and adop:ed as additional park improvement.::: pur
su~nt to Section 22.08.005 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code.
S3CTION 2. The project was reviewed for environmental impact
prior to action on the said Site an.d Desi0n review and no significant
environ men tal impact.s we roe found f and dl f\.lr t her en vi ronment:al as
sessment is required.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective upon the com
mencement of t."he thirty-first day after t.he day of its passage.
