FISCAL YEAR 1980-81 TO ESTABLISH CAPITAL IMP ROVEMF.NT PROJECT NO, 80-9 2 "VETERANS' MEMORIAL BUILDING AGRICULTURAL PRBSF.RVE CANCELLATION" TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR A PARTIAL CANCELLATION OF THE AGRICULTURAL PRESERVE TO PERMIT RESTORATION OF THE VETERANS' MEMORIAL BUILDING WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on June 23, 1980, did adopt a budget for fiscal year 1980-81; and WHEJ~EAS, the Council of the City of Palo Alto, on June 6, "1980 1 approved a sublease contract with William Cox, Jr. for the rehabilita­ tion an( subsequent use of the Veterans' ~emorial Building; and WHEREAS, the Veterans' Memorial Building is located on an agricul­ tural preserve: and ~1iERF.:AS, a partial cancellation of the .J·;n-icu.ltural pref.;erve is required be fore rt>habi 1 i tt~d.on cdn comrr~e !Ice~ and WHEREA.S, the sublease r~quires that the City pay the cance.llat.io•., fee, which fee is to be repaid to the C i. ty by Mr. Cox ovet-the Ler:m of the sublease. NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo ~lto does ORDAIN as follow .... : SECTION 1. Capital Improvement Project No. 80-92 is hereby estab­ lished fO"i?lrVeterans' Memorial Buildinq .;9ricult.ural Preserve Cancella­ tion." SECTION 2. The sum of Forty-three Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Dolla .. r.s ($43,250) is appropriated to Capital Improvement Project No. 80-92 ~veterans' Memorial Building Agricultural Pr0scrve Cancellationw and the Reserve fo~ General Contingency is corr~spondingly decreased. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective immediately as provided 1n Section 12 of Article 1!! and Section 2.04.375 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code.
