ORDINANCE OF' THE COUNCIL OF' TliE~CTTY 0£" PALO AL'l'O
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1980-81 TO
PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A WASTE
GREASE AND OIL RECOVERY SYSTEM AT THE WATER QUALITY
CONTROL PLANT AND TO PROVIDE FOR RECEIPT OF REVENUE
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article III
of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council on June 23, 1980,
did adopt a budget for fiscal y~ar 1980-81; and
~lf8REfi.S, the City of Palo Alto desires to construct a waste grease
and oil recovery system in order to reclaim and prepare waste products
as a fuel supplement; and
WHEREAS, the cities of Mountain View and Los Altos as pa~tners in
the R~gional Water Quality Control Plant, agree to share in the con
struction costs of this recovery syst~m; and
WHEREAS, sufficie1t funds are available in the Sewer Fund Reserve
for Systems Improvement to finance Palo Alto~s share~

SEC'TION 1. The S+lTt of. Two Hundred •rwenty-five 'l'housand Nine Hun-
dred Sixt.-een-Dollat·s ($225,916) is appropriated to the> Sewer Utility

Estimated revenue is increased by One llundred Seventeen Thousand Four
Hundred Seventy-six Dollars ($111,476) to reflect the anticipated re
ceipt of supporting revenue from the cities of Mountain View and Los
Altos, and the Reserve for Systems Improvement of the Sewer Utility
Fund is decreased by One Hundred Eight Thousand Four Hundred Forty
Dollars ($100,440) representing Palo Alto's share.
SECTION 2. An environmental impact assessment was con~ucted and
CouncTlTound-this project not to h<'vn 3 significant envir1)nmental im
pact.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective immediately as
provided in siction 12 of Article III of the Cha~ter and Section
2.04.375 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code.
