CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
Special Meeting

Council Member Berman called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M., in the
Cubberley Community Center, 4000 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto, California.
Present: Berman, Klein, Kniss, Price, Schmid
Absent: Burt, Holman, Scharff, Shepherd
1. Council Familiarization With Selected Facilities, Programs, Services and
Tenants at the Cubberley Community Center
Greg Betts, Director of Community Services, provided a group tour of the
artist studios of Marguerite Fletcher and Linda Gass and visited the
Montessori Preschool Program. The tour also included stops at the Gym
Activity Room, Gymnasiums, Foothill College Activity Center, football field,
tennis courts and leased dance & theatre spaces. Council Members also
encountered a number of vehicles in the Cubberley parking lot that are used
for housing by homeless individuals. Staff presented information at each
stop about facility maintenance issues, tenant history, program statistics and
information of the clients or users of various programs and services.
