Special Meeting January 31, 2001 The City Council of the City of Palo Alto met on this date in the Council Chambers at 4:05 p.m. PRESENT: Beecham, Burch, Eakins, Fazzino, Kleinberg, Lytle, Mossar, Ojakian SPECIAL MEETING 1. City of Palo Alto’s Response to the Current Energy Crisis City staff and Council members provided background information about the deregulation of the natural gas and electricity industry, discussed what Palo Alto is doing in light of escalating energy prices, provided details about efficiency programs available for local businesses and residents, and discussed what Palo Altans can do to help avert rolling blackouts. ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned at 5:30 p.m.
