HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-12-04 City Council Summary Minutes Special Meeting December 4, 2000 The City Council of the City of Palo Alto met on this date in the Council Chambers at 5:50 p.m. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Beecham, Burch, Eakins, Kniss, Kleinberg, Lytle, Mossar, Ojakian ABSENT: Fazzino SPECIAL MEETING 1. Council Retreat re Priority Setting The Council discussed visions for the community. It reviewed progress on the priorities it had set for itself in April 2000, and determined to keep those same priorities - Infrastructure Management Plan, Long Range Financial Plan, Zoning Ordinance Update, Joint City/School Facilities Master Plan and Residential Traffic Calming, with some changes to scope for the Zoning Ordinance Update (adding affordable housing) and Traffic Calming (to make more inclusive of all innovative traffic initiatives. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Betsy Allyn, 4186 Willmar Drive, spoke regarding Terman site, Jewish Community Center non-profit, and schools. Mary Carlstead, 147 Walter Hays Drive, spoke regarding traffic calming on Embarcadero Road. Ed Roger Holland, 1111 Parkinson Avenue, spoke regarding no net new commute trips. Lynne Chiapella, 631 Chiapella, 631 Colorado Avenue, spoke regarding sustainability and the cost of Community Services Department new projects. Peter Drekmeier, 570 Matadero Road, spoke regarding the sustainability plan. 12/04/00 91-195 John Easter, 1175 Stanley Way, spoke regarding affordable housing. Gloria Brown, 1766 Fulton Street, spoke regarding quality of life and his opposition to roundabouts. ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m. 12/04/00 91-196
