Special Meeting May 15, 2000 The City Council of the City of Palo Alto met on this date in the Foothills Park Interpretive Center at 5:45 p.m. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Beecham, Burch, Eakins, Fazzino, Kleinberg, Kniss, Lytle (arrived 5:50 p.m.), Mossar, Ojakian ORAL COMMUNICATIONS John Lovas, 650 Coleridge, spoke on staff procedures and sewer maintenance and replacement. SPECIAL MEETING 1. City Council Retreat with City Manager re Procedures and Priority Setting Mayor Kniss set out the purpose of the Council Retreat to discuss priority setting and procedures. Mayor Kniss explained instead of an outside facilitator, the meeting was being facilitated by City Manager Frank Benest at his request. Council and City Manager Frank Benest discussed Council priorities and compared staff priorities. Council and staff discussed streamlining of Council business, administrative processes, and areas related to Council, Committees, Boards, and Commissions. Topics covered City Council meetings, Council Committees, Boards and Commissions, contract processes, budget processes, and certain administrative procedures. ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned at 9:45 p.m.
