HomeMy WebLinkAbout2015-02-19 Public Art Commission Summary Minutes (2) MINUTES PUBLIC ART COMMISSION Study Session Thursday, February 19, 2015 Palo Alto Civic Center Council Meeting Room 250 Hamilton Avenue 7:02 p.m. Commissioners Present: Kathleen Kavanaugh, Ben Miyaji, Dara Silverstein, Vikki Tobak, Jim Migdal Amanda Ross joined the meeting at 7:03 p.m.; Nia Taylor joined the meeting at 7:06 p.m. Staff present: Elise DeMarzo, Public Art Program Manager Nadya Chuprina, Public Art Program Assistant II CALL TO ORDER – The meeting was called to order at 7:02 PM by Chair Kavanaugh. ADDITIONS, CHANGES, REQUESTS, DELETIONS – None. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS – None. STUDY SESSION – DeMarzo provided a detailed update for the CIP, Municipal and Maintenance budgets. DeMarzo provided an overview of four public art projects currently under development and in need of additional funding. Upon reviewing the budgets Staff and Commissioners led a discussion regarding the allocation of additional funding from the CIP and Municipal budgets for several ongoing projects, including the permanent artwork for the Municipal Golf Course, the University Avenue Tunnels project, a series of temporary public art projects, and the Public Art Master Planning project. No action was taken. ADJOURNMENT- The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.by Chair Kavanaugh.
