IV) APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. March 14, 2024
MOTION: Vice Chair Kraus moved, seconded by Commissioner Causey, to approve the
minutes of March 14, 2024.
MOTION PASSED: 5-0-2
V) BUSINESS ITEMS
2. Consideration of motion that reflects the process identified in Rosenberg's Rules of Order to
reconsider motion passed on March 6, 2024 that states that the "HRC recommends City
Council direct staff to work with the HRC to convene a meeting in 2024 to discuss hate crimes
with representatives of law enforcement, city leadership and experts in the field" and replace it
with a motion to indicate that the HRC will take leadership in planning the meeting. - Action
MOTION: Chair Eberle moves, seconded by Vice Chair Kraus, that the HRC: 1) Allows
suspension of the rules as identified in Rosenburg's Rules of Order in regards to a passed
motion; 2) Allow a motion to reconsider the original vote passed on March 6, 2024 which
states that the " HRC recommends that the City Council direct staff to work with the HRC to
convene a meeting in 2024 to discuss hate crimes with representatives of law enforcement, city
leadership and experts in the field; and 3) Recommend a motion that states the HRC will work
to convene a meeting in 2024 to discuss hate crimes with representatives of law enforcement,
city leadership and experts in the field.

3. Review of the Past Year. - Discussion

MOTION: Commissioner Smith moved, seconded by Commissioner Barr, to refer the work
plan to the Chair and Vice Chair to refine and bring back to the commission for a final
discussion and vote.
MOTION PASSED: 7-0
