Page 1 of 28 HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION ACTION MINUTES Thursday, May 13, 2021 6:00 PM REGULAR MEETING ****BY VIRTUAL TELECONFERENCE ONLY*** Commissioners Present: de Tourreil, Regehr, Savage, Smith, Stinger Staff: Minka van der Zwaag, Mary Constantino I.ROLL CALL II. AGENDA CHANGES, REQUESTS, DELETIONS Item 5 was tabled until a future meeting. III. BUSINESS 1.Recognition of Commission service for Vice Chair Stinger Chair Smith, the Commissioners and staff expressed gratitude for Vice Chair’s Stinger’s six years of exemplary service to the HRC. No Action Taken 2.Consideration of requested changes to the bylaws of the Palo Alto Mediation Program Aruna Bellary and Marletta Young, co-chairs of the Palo Alto Mediation Program and Sonia Hernandez, staff member Project Sentinel, presented updates to the Palo Alto Mediation’s bylaws. MOTION: Vice Chair Stinger moved, seconded by Commissioner Savage that the HRC appreciates the work that went into revising the PAMP Bylaws and they moved to approve the 2021 bylaw updates as presented. MOTION PASSED: 5-0 3.Consideration of response to the City Council regarding the proposed FY2022 City Operating Budget Discussion of the Finance Committee’s recommendation of the FY2022 Operating Budget to Council and the timeline of HRC response No Action Taken ADA. Update on the 100 Community Conversations on Race initiative Vice Chair Stinger provided an update and timeline for the Community Conversation trainings. No Action Taken 5. Continued discussion of avenues for response in regards to addressing the needs of the unhoused in Palo Alto Item was tabled until a future meeting 6. Update and next steps on items related to the FY21/22 workplan The Commissioners discussed their FY21/22 workplan and how numerous projects need Commissioner assignments. No Action Taken IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES February 5, February 11, March 11, March 17, April 8, 2021 MOTION: Chair Smith moved, seconded by Commissioner Savage to approve the five dates that were presented by staff, February 5, February 11, March 11, March 17, April 8, 2021 MOTION PASSED: 5-0 V.
