1. Consideration of avenues for response in regard to addressing the needs of the
unhoused in Palo Alto
Commission Regehr and Commissioner de Tourreil discussed ways in which the HRC can
provide recommendations, input and assistance to the City in addressing the needs of the
unhoused, especially RV and vehicle dwellers in Palo Alto.

2. Update on the Community Conversations on Race
Vice Chair Stinger provided a presentation on how the HRC is working on leading a
community effort to engage in 100 Conversations on Race, encouraging civic, social,
professional, school, and neighborhood leaders to host a conversation and make this
moment a pivot point to be a model community for diversity, inclusion, equity and
belonging.

3. Update FY21/22 workplan items
The Commissioners discussed their chosen workplan items that were not addressed earlier
on the agenda, including a call to select a focus for the conversation on Public Health.

4. Consideration of a recommendation to the City Council regarding Mayoral support of
the “Mayors United Against Antisemitism”
The Commission discussed the letter brought to them by a community member to be in
support of nationwide campaign called “Mayor’s United Against Antisemitism”. The HRC
agreed to endorse the letter and send the recommendation on to the Mayor.
MOTION: Commission Savage moved, seconded by Commissioner Regehr to move to
accept the statement and forward it to the Mayor.
MOTION PASSED: 5-0
VI. REPORTS FROM OFFICIALS
1. Commissioner Reports –
Commissioner de Tourreil reported as a liaison with PAPD she had an introductory
meeting to get to know the Assistant Police Chief Andrew Binder.
Vice Chair Stinger reported that she attended the Leadership Training and she met with the
Public Art Commission with Commissioner Regehr.
Chair Kaloma stated that he went to numerous meetings during the month.
Commissioner Regehr reported she met with Project Safety Net
