Page 1 of 28 HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION ACTION MINUTES Thursday, March 11, 2021 6:00 PM REGULAR MEETING ****BY VIRTUAL TELECONFERENCE ONLY*** Commissioners Present: de Tourreil, Regehr, Savage, Smith, Stinger Staff: Minka van der Zwaag, Mary Constantino Council Liaison: Council Member Stone III. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS IV. BUSINESS 1.Recommendations to City Council for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funding for Fiscal Year 2021-22 - Action - Public Hearing Erum Maqbool, CDBG Staff Specialist, Planning & Development Services presented the HRC Selection Committee’s funding recommendation. After the presentation, the Commissioners worked in a round-robin to ask questions to Ms. Maqbool and the Selection Committee. Public Hearing Opened: 6:55pm. Public Hearing Closed: 7:07pm MOTION: Chair Smith moved, seconded by Commissioner Regehr to: Provide funding recommendations for the Fiscal Year 2021-22 Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Program; and review and recommend approval of the Draft Fiscal Year 2021-22 Annual Action Plan. MOTION PASSED: 5-0 2.Recommendation from reviewers to the HRC for Human Services Resource Allocation Process (HSRAP) Funding for Fiscal Years 2022-2023 Chair Smith presented the Reviewer’s recommendation to the Commission. After the recommendation was presented, the Commissioners worked in a round-robin to ask questions and discuss the funding. MOTION: Vice Chair Stinger moved, seconded by Commissioner Savage to: Affirm the recommendation of the Reviewers that is included in the staff report. ADA. Presentation by Karen Kienzle, Palo Alto Art Center Director on upcoming Art Center exhibits and possible collaborations with the HRC Karen Kienzle, Palo Alto Art Center Director presented information on their current and upcoming exhibitions and discussed opportunities for the Commission and the Art Center to work together.
