Study Session:
1. Downtown DAS Project [14PLN-00175]: Request by Crown Castle for ARB Study Session
regarding conceptual designs for a downtown DAS (distributed antenna system) installation of
approximately 17 units located on existing light poles and street-signal light poles along
University Avenue, Lytton Avenue, and Hamilton Avenue, for Verizon Wireless. Poles are located
near the following addresses: 135, 180, 240, 281, 338, 383 University Avenue; 496, 300, 250,
180, 136 Hamilton Avenue; 401, 245, 251, 305, 325, 451 Lytton Avenue. This item was
continued from the June 5, 2014 meeting.
2. 1313 Newell Road [Art Center]: Request by City of Palo Alto Public Works for Study Session
Review by the Architectural Review Board of design concepts for a new corner free standing sign
for the Art Center and Rinconada Library facility; formal project will require a Sign Exception to
exceed the number of free standing signs allowed on the project site.

3. 411-437 Lytton Avenue [145PLN-00150]: Request by Hayes Group Architects, Inc. on
behalf of Ehikian & Company, for a preliminary Architectural Review of a proposal to construct
(1) a new 3 story office and residential building, (2) a 276 sq. ft. addition to an existing historic
Category 2 residence, and (3) a two level underground parking garage under the new and
existing buildings on a 15,031 s.f. site in the Commercial Downtown with Pedestrian Combining

District (CD-C(P)). Preliminary Reviews are exempt from the California Environmental Quality
Act.
4. 385 Sherman Avenue [13PLN-00528]: Request by Daniel Minkoff for major Architectural
Review of a proposal to demolish the existing 21,600 sq. ft. one story office building and
construct a new 55,566 sq. ft. three-story mixed use building with two levels of underground
parking for 103 spaces on a 27,783 s.f. site in the Community Commercial (CC(2)) zoned district.
Environmental Assessment: A Mitigated Negative Declaration has been prepared and will be
available for public review beginning June 6, 2014 through July 7, 2014. This item will not be
heard on June 19, 2014; the review will be continued to the regular meeting of July 3,
2014.

5. 101 Lytton Avenue [14PLN- 00083]: Request by Lytton Gateway LLC for a Subcommittee
Review of alternatives to illumination of the primary Survey Monkey logo signage and reduce the
size and lower the location of the Survey Monkey signage on the Lytton Avenue tower for a
previously approved Master Sign Program for four commercial tenants in the PC 5158 zone
district. Environmental Assessment: Exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental
Quality Act (CEQA) per CEQA Section 15311.
6. 150 Forest Avenue [14PLN-00134]: ARB Subcommittee review of minor exterior
modifications that include new glazing, new awning and new paint color for an existing office
building in the RT-50 zone district. Environmental Assessment: Exempt from the provisions of the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) per CEQA Guidelines Section 15301.
