PROCEDURES FOR PUBLIC HEARINGS
Please be advised the normal order of public hearings of agenda items is as follows:
• Announce agenda item
• Open public hearing
• Staff recommendation
• Applicant presentation – Ten (10) minutes limitation or at the discretion of the Board.
• Public comment – Five (5) minutes limitation per speaker or limitation to three (3)
minutes depending on large number of speakers per item.
• Architectural Review Board questions of the applicant/staff, and comments
• Applicant closing comments - Three (3) minutes
• Close public hearing
• Motions/recommendations by the Board
• Final vote
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS. Members of the public may speak to any item not on the
agenda with a limitation of three (3) minutes per speaker. Those who desire to speak must
complete a speaker request card available from the secretary of the Board. The Architectural
Review Board reserves the right to limit the oral communications period to 15 minutes.

AGENDA CHANGES, ADDITIONS AND DELETIONS. The agenda may have additional
items added to it up until 72 hours prior to meeting time.
CONTINUED ITEMS:
1. 300 Pasteur Drive [10PLN-00395]: Request by Stanford Hospital and Clinics on behalf of The
Board of Trustees for the Leland Stanford Junior University for Architectural Review of a new
Stanford Hospitals and Clinics main hospital building, consisting of approximately 1,100,000
square feet of new hospital area, 456 replacements hospital beds, the addition of 144 new
hospital beds, surgical operating suites, diagnostic and treatment suites, emergency department,
nursing and support space. The project also include development of an above grade/below grade
parking facility of approximately 970 spaces, site re-development and a new landscaping plan.
These projects are components of the Stanford University Medical Center Facilities Renewal
and Replacement Project. Existing Zone District: PF (Public Facilities). Environmental
Assessment: The Final Environmental Impact Report was released in February and will be
considered along with the Development Agreement and Entitlements by the Planning and
Transportation Commission and City Council in May and June 2011.
2. 3000 Hanover [11PLN-00056]: Request by Elinor Kumpf of Gensler Architects on behalf of
Leland Stanford Junior University for Architectural Review of a new two story 35,000 square
foot addition for a new executive briefing center at the existing HP headquarters facility in the
Stanford Research Park. Zone: RP. Environmental Assessment: An initial study and Negative
Declaration has been prepared. (Continued from March 17, 2011).
3. 145 Hamilton Avenue [11PLN-00019]: Request by Joseph Bellomo Architects, on behalf of
575 High Street LLC, for Architectural Review of facade improvements to an existing multi-
story building. Zone: CD-C (GF)(P). Environmental Assessment: Exempt from the provisions
of (CEQA) per section 15301 (Existing Facilities).
NEW BUSINESS:
4. 167 Hamilton Avenue [11PLN-00095]: Request by Efrain Corona on behalf of 167 Hamilton
Investors, LLC, for Architectural Review of façade improvements to the entire building, the
addition of outdoor seating and other minor improvements associated with a new restaurant use
on the ground floor of an existing multi-story commercial building. A Conditional Use Permit
has also been requested for service of alcohol on site. Zone: CD-C (GF)(P). Environmental
Assessment: Exempt from the provisions of (CEQA) per section 15301 (Existing Facilities).
5. 2585 East Bayshore Road [11PLN-00020]: Request by 2585 Bayshore, LLC for Architectural
Review Board (ARB) review for a change in use of the existing building from General Business
Office to a Day Care Center. Exterior modifications include the construction of a new trash
enclosure and the replacement of 18 existing parking stalls with a new fenced in outdoor play
area with new playground equipment. Zone: ROLM (E)(D)(AD). Environmental Assessment:
Exempt from the provisions of (CEQA) per section 15301 (Existing Facilities).
