HONORING EAGLE SCOUT ANABEL LUK
WHEREAS, Anabel Luk, a founding member of Scouting America Troop 4201, is being recognized at the
Eagle Scout Court of Honor for successfully completing all requirements for this highest rank; and
WHEREAS, Scouting, for all children, has been an integral part of our community, as well as a positive
influence for many years. We are gathered here on this occasion as friends, family, and neighbors of Anabel Luk,
to celebrate her attainment of the rank of Eagle Scout and to recognize the dedicated and steady path she has taken
within the Scouting organization; and
WHEREAS, Anabel has demonstrated exceptional dedication to Scouting, completing 31 merit badges, 62
camping nights, 174 hiking miles, and 73 service hours. She has held multiple leadership roles within the troop,
including Senior Patrol Leader, Quartermaster, Webmaster, Chaplain Aide, Outdoor Ethics Guide, and Historian.
Anabel was also elected to the Order of the Arrow, which is Scouting America’s National Honor Society; and
WHEREAS, we commend Anabel on her Eagle Scout project at the Palo Alto Baylands Sailing Station,
which is an example of the many contributions she has made to the community. Anabel’s project consisted of
constructing and installing an 8-foot wheelchair-accessible picnic table, refurbishing the existing picnic table, and
removing surrounding invasive or dead plants. This valuable project has created a more sustainable and accessible
environment where all can enjoy the Baylands.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ed Lauing, Mayor of the City of Palo Alto, do hereby recognize and congratulate
Anabel Luk, Eagle Scout, for this outstanding accomplishment, extending to her my deepest appreciation for all
her dedicated work and best wishes in all her future endeavors.
