Jesse Ebner – ATHENA Leadership Award
WHEREAS, Jesse Ebner has worked at Premier Properties Commercial Real Estate in Palo Alto for over five years
and has established herself as a leader in the field. In her current role as Vice President, Jesse advises mid- and south-
Peninsula landlords with their leasing and marketing strategies and assists with development and acquisition projects;
and
WHEREAS, Jesse double majored in Economics and Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations
at Yale University, where she also won three Ivy League championships as a four-year starter on the Yale Varsity
Volleyball team; and
WHEREAS, upon her return to the Bay Area, she served as the Director of Operations for the Women’s Volleyball
Program at Santa Clara University, while simultaneously coaching at Vision Volleyball Club, where she guided high
school girls on their journeys to becoming confident young women and athletes; and
WHEREAS, Jesse gained experience in other fields before making her way to commercial real estate, including
working as a Congressional Intern in the Office of Senator Diane Feinstein and a Research Consultant at the Gruter
Institute for Law and Behavioral Research; and
WHEREAS, Jesse’s experience as a Senior Fellow in Leadership Palo Alto served as a gateway into the social,
governmental, and economic sectors of Palo Alto and led to pivotal connections that paved her way into commercial
real estate; and
WHEREAS, Jesse’s commitment to her community extends beyond her professional career. She also serves as a
Board Member and Secretary of the Board of AchieveKids, a non-profit that operates two schools for children with
special educational needs; and
WHEREAS, the ATHENA Award honors exceptional women leaders who demonstrate the highest levels of
professional excellence, give back to their communities and, most importantly, assist other women in realizing their full
leadership potential; and
WHEREAS, it is awarded with the highest regard by the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce in celebration of the
change-makers and trailblazers who open doors of leadership and opportunity for women in communities across the
globe.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Lydia Kou, Mayor of the City of Palo Alto, on behalf of the entire City Council, do hereby
commend Jesse Ebner for her exceptional leadership and congratulate her as a 2023 ATHENA Award honoree.
