Proclamation
ON THE 21ST ANNIVERSARY OF THE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA CHINESE
CULTURAL ATHLETIC FEDERATION
WHEREAS, the Northern California Chinese Cultural Athletic Federation has three missions: to
unite the Chinese community; to promote Chinese sports, culture, life, and career development; and to
discover and uplift the next generation of sports and cultural talents; and
WHEREAS, the Northern California Chinese Cultural Athletic Federation has held the Chinese
Sports Conference in Northern California for 21 consecutive years; and
WHEREAS, the NCCCAF has gathered 200+ teams, 400+ competitive events, and 10,000+
players, while amassing over 30,000 spectators, thus holding the record for the largest Chinese
sporting event outside of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and mainland China; and
WHEREAS, this year, the NCCCAF is proud to carry out a series of competitive activities,
including table tennis, badminton, martial arts, track and field, Tai Chi, square dance, tennis,
volleyball, basketball, swimming, and golf; and
WHEREAS, the NCCCAF boasts great achievements while continuing to make progress in its
goals of attracting people from all ethnic groups to participate in the various events of the NCCCAF
and increasing the impact of Chinese Americans in the American community.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Lydia Kou, Mayor of the City of Palo Alto do hereby congratulate the
Northern California Chinese Cultural Athletic Federation on its success in uniting and celebrating the
Chinese community through sports for over 20 years.
